Musical Theatre
The DPA Musical Theatre classes are taught in a structured and fun environment. Each term a different musical production or theme is explored where your child will learn how to sing, dance and act, as we nurture and encourage your child to develop their confidence, creativity and communication skills.
At the end of each term the various songs, routines and drama pieces learnt will be showcased to friends and family. Pupils will also have the opportunity to perform their work in local theatres and community events.
Classes take place at local Primary Schools and at Worplesdon Memorial Hall on Saturday's from 10.15 - 11.15am for 4-7year olds.
Below is an outline of what your child will learn when attending our Musical Theatre classes.

SINGING
In singing we focus on improving children’s quality of speech and encourage good vocal technique. Each class will start with a vocal warm up, including breathing techniques, pitch and vocal timing. The class will then learn the main song of the term, where they will get to experiment with solo and group singing.

DANCE
Our dance classes focus on improving fitness, posture, and quality of movement. Each session begins with an energetic aerobic warm-up to get bodies moving, followed by learning a Musical Theatre dance routine linked to our current theme.
We place a strong emphasis on self-expression, creativity, and building confidence, all while having fun through dance!

DRAMA
In drama your child will be encouraged to work collaboratively with others. The class will challenge each individual to develop their role-play, improvisation, characterisation and theatrical skills. Over time you will see your child's social skills and stage presence improve as they gain confidence in themselves.
